What is living if you're destined to fall?

In the darkest corner of your soul
You want to know how to belong
You want to sing a happy song
You want to get out of this hell hole

A myriad of sorrows and pains
When suddenly a burst of light -
It cut through the pouring of the rain
And lent you wings to fly in the night.

The day you saw her fall from her tower
You wanted to be the white knight to save her
But the truth is that you were her slayer
With your own strength you've crushed her

The light turned into darkness
Shrouding your battered soul
And you ask for her forgiveness
But it's too late, you have to take its toll

On your mind and in your weary heart
You realize too late what you wanted
